Hilary was trained as a solicitor and until recently worked as a commercial property lawyer for a large institution. Prior to that she was a partner in a large city practice. She has now left the law to pursue painting and other interests.

Hilary has always loved painting and has attended part time courses at Heatherleys and Central Saint Martins’ Schools of Art. She began exhibiting in 1998, first at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and then at Llewellyn Alexander’s  ‘Salon de Refuses’ where she was noted by the Financial Times Art Critic.

In October 1998 she had a one women exhibition at ‘Fashion Gallery’ Little Venice and then in March 1999 participated in the group exhibition of the Society for Art of the Imagination at the Mall Galleries London.
